One in the Spirit, 2005 - $15

This is the Celtic Spirit Pipe Band’s second CD. The CD’s name evokes the bands motto, “One in the Spirit”. The band enjoys being creative in their music by combining other instruments to the traditional bagpipe sound. Formed in 1999, the band continues to spread the Celtic spirit whenever they perform throughout Western NY. We hope you enjoy listening to our music as much as we love to play it.

2. Hail to my Country <this track is available for download> (Maj. Gen. C.S. Thompson) a variation from the piobaireachd of the same name - our interpretation of a piece of the classical music of the pipes.
3. Thin on Top (P/M Paul Seibert) a modern hornpipe, with harmonies written by the band.
4. Last of the Mohicans (T. Jones, R. Edelman) an electrifying arrangement of a slow air and jig from the popular motion picture. This will get your toe tapping!
5. Flett from Flotta (D. MacLeod), The Rose of Allendale (Trad.) a pair of popular 4/4 marches.
6. The High Road to Gairloch (solo piper, J. Baschnagel, Drum, J. Sokolowsky) mixing traditions! A very old Scottish 2/4 march accompanied by the West African Djembe drum!
7. Highland Cathedral (Uli Roever & Michael Korb) a fairly new tune written in 1982 by two German musicians who were befriended by the pipers of a Scottish regiment stationed in West Berlin.
8. Coulter’s Candy (Trad.) Star of the County Down (Trad.) 4/4 marches.
9. Sony’s Mazurka (solo piper, J. Baschnagel, Drum, J. Sokolowsky)). Mazurkas were originally dance tunes from Eastern Europe.
10. Flowers of the Forest, Mingulay Boat Song (solo piper, J. Pinsof) a moving arrangement of two very old traditional Scottish tunes.
11. Three Little Drummers (Trad.), Ceili’s Fox (J. Baschnagel) two jigs played on the smallpipes, one Irish and one written by our Pipe Major about his West Highland Terrier. (The fox got away!)
12. Dreams of Old Pa Forgerty (Rory Campbell), Gardens of Skye, The Rowan Tree, Scotland the Brave (All Trad.) a classic set of 4/4 marches, opening with a modern slow air.
13. Patrick’s Lament (J. Baschnagel, smallpipes) a lament written in memory of Patrick Lowther by our Pipe Major.
14. The Gold Ring (Trad. Irish) a big jig played on the smallpipes (J. Baschnagel), once again accompanied by the West African Djembe drum,
    (J. Sokolowsky).
15. The Water is Wide (Trad.) (Guitar M. Schaffer, Flute D. Day, Harmonica, J. Baschnagel, Solo Piper, J. Pinsof) three of our band members switch instruments for our take on a popular song.
16. The Nightingale (Trad.) (Banjo and vocals, M. Schaffer, vocals J. Warren). Celtic Spirit is a band of many talents. Here, two of our younger members set down their pipes and send you on your way with a traditional Irish drinking song.
